Chartridge School Association

All parents of children at the school are automatically members of the Chartridge School Association (CSA), our school’s PTA.

The aim of the association is to raise funds and to reinforce links between the school, the parents and the children.

The money raised helps to buy extra equipment which helps and supports Chartridge School to maintain such high standards.

Events are always a good opportunity for parents to get together and for new parents to get to know each other.

Chartridge School Association current key members are:

Chair                          Laura Correia

Vice Chair                 Lisa Cano and Marianne Moberg

Treasurer                  Claire Woolam

Secretary                   Debbie Iyer and Kerry Jackson

There are approximately 25 other committee members. We also have two “class reps” for each year group, who are responsible for organising some of the CSA events each year and who also organise parent social events for parents within their year group.

In addition to the committee members (and anyone can be on the committee), there are many parents who help out in various other ways: setting up at events or clearing up afterwards, baking, helping out on a stall, helping to build the carnival float to name a few. The CSA could not function without this help, so please do consider getting involved.

Typical events that we hold might include:

Children’s Disco, Film Night, New Year's Parents Disco, Sponsored Walk, Adult Quiz Nights, Christmas Bazaar, Ride Chartridge Cycling Event, Chesham Carnival School Float, Summer Fete, Family Camp Night, New Starters BBQ, and Phil the Bag.

Projects Achieved

We have raised money for some very significant items over the past few years including refurbishment of the school computer suite, and the new playground shelters (much appreciated by parents and children alike, as the playground can be very wet and windy in winter and very hot in the summer).

We also funded the refurbishment of the library, which is an integral resource of the school. Last year we also funded some new software for the library to improve the facilities further.

More recently we have purchased the fantastic outdoor classroom and some amazing playground equipment.

Many smaller sums are regularly spent on extra resources for the school, such as the school texting service (an invaluable way of communicating with parents), lockers for year 5 and 6, a new sound system for the main hall and additional classroom equipment that otherwise may not be funded.

The children really benefit from these extra resources, and we have a lot of fun along the way, helping to raise funds and contribute to the life and community of the school.

Please do consider becoming involved. Fresh ideas and enthusiasm are always welcome. You can do as much or as little as you like.

We alternate our meetings from in the daytime and evening so that both working and stay at home parents can attend and usually a member of staff is also present.

Please contact any of the committee members through the school office to find out when our next meeting is.
